Engineering

Engineering :
All-important core of projects.

Innovative, state of the art and same time robust, well proven design is the all-important core for building safe, economic and long term reliable plants.
Hand-in-hand with our customers the MTP Multi-Discipline Engineering Team provides first-class services for all project phases:

• Studies & Conceptual Design
• Basic Engineering & FEED
• Detail Engineering & Implementation
• After Sales (retrofitting & debottlenecking)
• Decommissioning, Dismantling and Renaturation

Usage of international acknowledged and validated Engineering Tools together with application of Structured Design Reviews and Risk & Safety Management result in flawless plant design, construction, commissioning and operatio

MULTI-DISCIPLINE ENGINEERING TEAM

With our own Multi-Discipline Engineering Team we
can consistently cover all functional areas. Experienced Lead- and Senior Engineers together with a
balanced team of Engineers and Designers of the
following disciplines are in-house:

  • PROCESS
  • PROCESS SAFETY
  • PIPING & 3D LAYOUT
  • PIPELINE SYSTEMS
  • CIVIL, STRUCTURAL & ARCHITECTURE
  • ELECTRICAL
  • INSTRUMENTATION / TELECOM. / FUNCTIONAL SAFETY
  • MECHANICAL – STATIC & ROTATING EQUIPMENT AND PACKAGE UNITS
  • INFORMATION MANAGEMENT & TOOLS

PROCESS

Our team of process engineers covers a broad range of expertise including Oil& Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical and Renewables plants and all facilitates & utilities. We have strong background in feasibility studies, energy optimization, detailing engineering and support to commissioning. Our areas of expertise include heat and material balance, steady-state and dynamic simulations, equipment design, P&IDs, operation manual and operator training.

Based on many years of experience on large EPC projects, we have developed an easy an efficient way to handle interdiscipline data and global way of working. We use AVEVA ENGINEERING to integrate all process data in one tool. Consistency check can be easily done across the database and P&IDs (AVEVA Diagrams) at any time to check data quality. Main deliverables as Equipment List, and Line list are easily updated ensuring high quality and low risk during the project life-cycle.

STRUCTURED DESIGN REVIEWS

As an integral part of our Engineering works we perform frequent design reviews to ensure first class design in terms of safety, constructability and cost.
Trained and experiences internal or external facilitators chair our cold-eye reviews:

HAZID | HAZOP | 3D Model review | Functional Safety | Value Engineering | Constructability

HAZID

HAZard IDentification workshop aims identifying all hazards and hazardous events associated to construction, operation and maintenance with special emphasis on the major accidental events

HAZOP

HAZard and OPerability study aims identifying hazardous and operability issues associated with the process of a facility

3D MODEL REVIEW

We established regular 3D-model reviews in our workflow to secure our plant design in terms of HSE, constructability, operability, maintainability and requirements of our client. To ensure meeting his demands, external reviews with of our client are held at milestones of the detail engineering process and before issuing e.g. execution drawings. Typically, these reviews are called:

  • 1st, 30% or Plot Plan Review,
  • 2nd, 60% or Plant Layout Review,
  • 3rd, 90% or Piping Layout Review.
  •

Internal reviews are used as an effective tool to coordinate the engineering activities or to discuss specific design issues with vendors.

FUNCTIONAL SAFETY

The aim of Functional Safety is to prevent accidents and damage and to reduce the risk to people, processes and the environment to a tolerable level. We offer know-how and experience for the planning and implementation of functional safety in processes and technology in accordance with the applicable laws and standards (e. g. IEC 61511, IEC 62061, EN 50156). These include

• Hazard and risk assessment,
• Allocation of safety requirements to safety
instrumented functions
• Safety Requirement Specifications
• Design of safety instrumented systems
• Reliability analysis
• Installation, commissioning and testing
• Validation support
• Operation & Maintenance manuals
• Management of functional safety
• Safety Documentation

VALUE ENGINEERING

Our commitment is the continuous improvement of the “value” our projects and services. Being the ratio of outcome to effort, the value can be increased by either improving the one or reducing the other. Improving the outcome is not limited to plant throughput but can be various other key factors like product quality, processing flexibility, emission level, environmental sustainability or Plant life time. Corresponding the reduction of effort is also not limited to CAPEX and OPEX but can be reduction of Engineering-, Construction- and Commissioning time or ability to utilize a wider range of FEED-stock. Value Engineering workshops will be consequently performed in various phases of a project. However, with all due measures for Value Engineering, the plant and operator safety as well as environmental protection remains our highest good and is unnegotiable.

CONSTRUCTABILITY

During the design phase we logically focus on high quality and safety standards. We established same level of attention to construction methods and sequences. Many difficulties which are faced during construction can be avoided when construction issues are taken care of during the design, planning and procurement phase. Our highly effective constructability process adds a general improvement in case of change orders, budget overruns, increase of scope reduction by incorporating construction knowledge in the design, planning and procurement. The major benefits of using a constructability approach are entirely in line with the objectives of the projects:
• Improvement of safety and quality
• Improvement of security
• Reduction of costs
• Identification and prevention or mitigation of project risks
• Reduction of the overall duration of the project

We establish and implement the constructability program as early as possible on a project and we are convinced to achieve the potential benefits of constructability only through the effective and early integration of construction and operation inputs into planning, design and procurement processes.
